About RRB ALP

The RRB ALP (Railway Recruitment Board Assistant Loco Pilot) exam is conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board to recruit Assistant Loco Pilots in Indian Railways. ALPs assist the train driver in operating the locomotive, managing controls, and ensuring the safe and efficient running of trains.

  • 1.Assisting the Train Driver: The primary duty of an ALP is to support the loco pilot in operating the train. This includes managing controls, monitoring signals, and ensuring the locomotive is functioning properly.
  • 2.Conducting Safety Checks:   RRB ALP are responsible for performing routine safety checks on the locomotive before and during the journey.
  • Communication: RRB ALP help in maintaining clear communication with the train driver and other railway staff, such as signalmen and station masters, ensuring that all operations are coordinated effectively.
  • 3.Learning and Development: The role of an ALP is often seen as the first step in a career as an RRB Loco Pilot. Through experience and further training.
