Age Limit

• Constable: The age limit for male candidates is usually between 18 to 22 years, and for female candidates, it is between 18 to 25 years.
• Sub-Inspector (SI): The age limit for both male and female candidates is generally between 21 to 28 years.

Note: Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories as per government rules.

2. Educational Qualification

• Constable: Candidates must have passed the 12th standard (Intermediate) from a recognized board.
• Sub-Inspector (SI): Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.

3. Nationality

• Candidates must be Indian citizens.

4. Physical Standards

For Male Candidates:

• Height:
  • General/OBC/SC: Minimum 168 cm
  • ST: Minimum 160 cm
• Chest:
  • General/OBC/SC: Minimum 79 cm (with a minimum expansion of 5 cm)
  • ST: Minimum 77 cm (with a minimum expansion of 5 cm)

For Female Candidates:

• Height:
  • General/OBC/SC: Minimum 152 cm
  • ST: Minimum 147 cm

5. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

• Constable:
  • Male: Run 4.8 km in 25 minutes
  • Female: Run 2.4 km in 14 minutes
• Sub-Inspector (SI):
  • Male: Run 4.8 km in 28 minutes
  • Female: Run 2.4 km in 16 minutes

6. Medical Standards

• Candidates should have good physical and mental health and should be free from any physical defects or diseases.

7. Written Examination

• Candidates are required to qualify in the written examination, which typically includes subjects like General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical & Mental Ability, and Mental Aptitude/IQ/Reasoning.

8. Character and Antecedent Verification

• Candidates must have a good character and must pass the antecedent verification conducted by the department.

9. Marital Status

• Male candidates should not have more than one living wife.
• Female candidates should not be married to someone who already has a wife.
